Romney Marsh Ceramics

Beverley Gray Hand Painting CeramicsMy name is Beverley Gray and I was born in the historic and ancient town of Rye in Sussex; one of the famous Cinque Port towns on the edge of the Romney Marsh. This area has hundreds of years of interesting history, from the smugglers that crept across the marshes under cover of darkness, to the quarter boys on top of St Marys Church. Rye and Romney Marsh are wonderful examples of rural England. Rye, surrounded by cobbled streets and pretty medieval houses and Romney Marsh with its far reaching  rural views.

I now live in the pretty kent village of Appledore, a stone's throw from Rye. For more that twenty years I painted house signs and commemorative plates for David Sharp, of David Sharp Pottery; a local artist and potter. I also spent several years as a Ceramic Designer at the famous Rye Pottery until I started my own business; Romney Marsh Ceramics, based in Appledore.
